This episode tells the story of a 25-year-old man named Jack Nelson, who works as a forest ranger. He was recently transferred by his boss, Mitch Scott, to Ironbark State Park, specifically to observation tower number 11. It should be noted that Jack has an RV (a truck or car with living facilities inside) so he can drive and live in his RV.
This incident began on May 12 when he received a message from his boss to be transferred to Ironbark.
His boss also mentioned that there had previously been a female ranger stationed there, but she had left her job and disappeared without any news.
When he learned that Jack was the new forest ranger assigned to Ironbark, the man told him about the disappearance of three children in the area. He and the local residents believed that they had disappeared because of mysterious creatures there, not to mention the many hikers and walkers who had gone missing in the area. However, Jack did not believe the man's story and chose to go into the restaurant.
After that, he went and sat at an available table and began to enjoy the burger, fries, and drink he had ordered. He also did not forget to reply to his sister's chat and tell her that the burgers at this restaurant were indeed very delicious.
He continued toward the portal gate because it was closed. He tried to check a guardhouse near the portal before he was startled by Billy, a gatekeeper at the portal. Billy initially did not know that Jack was the new guard who had just started working that night. He apologized, gave him the tower key, and opened the portal gate for him.
Just before Jack entered the area, he was reminded not to go half a mile north of the tower because the area was dangerous due to the presence of bobcats, a type of wildcat, and bears.
a few moments before starting his tasks, he received a radio call from someone in tower 12 named Connor Hawkins. Connor asked Jack to light the stove to warm up the room so Jack wouldn't be cold, but Jack couldn't find any firewood there and asked Connor about it. Connor said he could find firewood in the hut below, right under the tower.
Connor also explained that the wood was collected by Harley, a woman who had previously been on guard at Tower 11 and had disappeared without a trace, as Mitch had said. However, Connor said that Harley was a strong, brave, and hard-working woman.
Descending the tower, Jack entered the hut to collect firewood. Returning to the top of the tower, Jack lit the firewood in the furnace as he had said he would. After that, he carried out his duties of checking the temperature, wind, and weather, then reported it on the computer and completed his tasks for the day. Jack was then able to rest.
His cell phone received a signal at this location, and immediately all messages came in, including a message from his sister, Kayla Nelson, saying she was worried because she had not received a reply from Jack. After Jack replied to the message and said that he had not replied because there was no signal, he checked the tent and found something strange. All the equipment had been left behind, and we could also hear a small whistle coming from near the forest. Since the campfire was still burning, Jack decided to take a bucket and fetch water from the nearby pond to prevent a forest fire. Finding nothing else, he returned to Tower 11.
This incident occurred a month ago when the three children mysteriously disappeared. Some of the children's parents said they heard whistling from inside the forest, which may have caused their children to disappear as they followed the sound of the whistling. Since then, rumors about a mysterious creature in the Lacey Trail area have spread. Instead of scaring hikers and campers away, many of them have gone there to search for the three missing children. This is why Mitch (Jack's superior) ordered Jack to guard Tower 11 to prevent something like this from happening again.
to check it out and asked Jack to stay calm and lock the door. Jack was confused by the incident, wondering if it was real or just a dream.
The next day, Jack monitored and cleaned the dusty binoculars to observe the surroundings. Shortly after, he received a call from a hiker asking for help because he was lost. The hiker described everything he saw so Jack could guide him to the right path. When they reached the intersection, the hiker asked whether he should go right or left. No matter which answer we chose, he would say he was relieved to know Jack was there because he had heard his whistle, but Jack explained that it wasn't him, which frightened the hiker. Shortly after, the call disconnected, and there was a knock from outside.
Billy then asked about the animal skull he had mentioned to Connor—whether he had photographed it, since Jack hadn't considered it and there was no evidence. Billy then returned to his place.
Since he no longer heard any calls from the lost hiker, Jack decided to continue his task. After finishing, he climbed down the tower to collect firewood. However, just after taking the firewood from the hut and turning around, someone startled him.
Feeling strange about Silas' words, Jack returned to his post and lit the fireplace. Before going to sleep as usual, Connor made a call to Tower 11. Not long after, Jack recounted what he had just experienced—meeting Silas, a radio tower worker. Connor said he didn't know the man and explained that the tower had been damaged by lightning and required a large sum of money to repair it, but so far no one had provided that amount.
Jack hurried inside and hid under the bed without making a sound. Soon, someone managed to break down the door and entered to search for Jack. Moments later, that person came out, and Jack took the opportunity to rush down the tower. Jack was chased by that figure because he had accidentally seen him.
